Personalized Story.
I recently had a commission for a storybook to be given to a young woman's parents on their 25th Wedding Anniversary.
What we ended up doing was making a very cool fairy tale that read slightly differently from either end. The same story told from two points of view. The concept that I suggested was that of a mother and father each telling their child how they got together. And the child imagines it in their own way- as a fairy tale.
In the middle of the book were family photos and a few words from the daughter of stories she remembers her parents telling. The story is based on a couple of those stories, with a few personal references throughout.
It went over very well. The daughter got a hard-cover 7"x7" book for her parents and a number of soft-covers for aunts and uncles. |
